Shad is a Juno Award winner, a double Polaris Prize nominee, a cerebral poet, and one of Canada's most treasured musicians. Leading up to his show at The Paragon Theatre this weekend on Saturday, May 14, I had the opportunity to catch up with him via telephone to talk about his latest album, TSOL, the state of hip-hop in Canada, and the rolls he envisions his music can play in making a difference.
