Halifax Is Burning :: S02E09

Warning: There's some wacky digital noise going on throughout the broadcast this week. Why? Don't know. Hopefully next week it will be better.

Jon Landry from The Stanfields dropped by this week for a chat on their recent wins in The Coast's Best of Music Poll. He also brought by a copy of their new record, and together we debuted three brand new songs on Halifax is Burning. Check it out!

Like I said in my last post, the archives at CKDU were being repaired the week this show aired. But now that they're fixed, it is with great pleasure that I offer up this file for the listening.

Thrush Hermit TONIGHT!

I won't Skip The LIfe This Week. I'm gonna get All Dressed Up and hire a Rock N Roll Detective from North Dakota - a Heart Wrenching Man who is constantly On The Sneak - to help me analyze all those Violent (Western) Dreams of Puerto Rico that are typically Uneventful. Together, we'll be Headin' South.

And On The Day We Hit The Coast, I'll Re-Read The Postcards sent to me by a Sweet Homewrecker from Clayton Park with whom I used to French Inhale. Each one reads "I'm Sorry If Your Heart Has No More Room" and other Noosed and Haloed Swear Words that cross The Great Pacific Ocean at My Expense as though I've been Snubbed From The Back of The Film.

"Before You Leave," I will write back, "know that life is nothing Without You."

I know It's Strange To Be Involved now because at one time you really Hated It, but If You Got An Answer This Week, Darling Don't Worry because I Came and Went and I truly believe that We Are Being Reduced.

Oh My Soul.

And by the time you get my note, my pink Radio Blaster (coloured as such because - after all - Pink Is The Colour) will be playing Songs For The Gang, and my Claim To Lame will be Cott between a Patriot and a Smart Bomb.

The only question I have now - OK, I've got 25 All Right? - or at least the most important one is, Oh Man, What To Do?

One more video - Hermit style.

This is actually the one I wanted to include in yesterdays post, but I was so busy that I completely forget. Silly me.

This is a brand new Thrush Hermit video that will be featured in their 7-Disc Box Set which will be available at their REUNION SHOWS happening this weekend at The Paragon Theatre. You bet I'll be talking about this on my show tonight.

Halifax Is Burning :: S02E06 - ECMA Style

It was an all-ECMA star-studded extravaganza on Halifax is Burning this week. For a full list of nominees, read this, and for a full list of winners, read this.

I also tried to drop a new Wintersleep jam, but I couldn't get any of the proper science in the studio to work. Instead, I posted a link on the show's Twitter page, so you can hear it there.

I didn't catch much of the ECMA live web-stream broadcast, but many people said it was a snooze fest. I can assure you my broadcast was much better. Check it out:

I caught The Motorleague's set at the Forward Music Group showcase at Governor's and they were awesome as always. Congrats boys!

In other video news, Cape Breton's Tom Fun Orchestra took home the Video of the Year award for "Throw Me To The Rats". Check it out:
